Megan's conundrum: Which is the most green-friendly way home around the hills of Seattle?
by Megan Temple | KSTW.com
Okay Living Green readers, I need your help.
My house is at the bottom of a very large hill. In fact, you truly have to go uphill both ways to get to, or leave my house. I have taken to going around the hill, which makes the trip slightly longer, but (as we've always figured) saves our engine and gas from ascending the hill each day. But as I was driving home yesterday, it occurred to me that the energy and gas consumed by taking the long way vs. driving up the hill might be a wash.
Having no car knowledge, I am looking to you to help me solve this auto mystery. And I know what a lot of you are going to say walk, bike, take the bus. But please keep in mind that I'm new to this whole green thing baby steps, friends.
Should I continue to go around? Or, do I climb the hill? Email me- events@kstwtv.com and let me know your advice!
