    Earth Day: Barbie Goes Green!

    by Aaron Fields | KSTW.com

Just when you thought she had everything, she threw a curve ball and added something else. Barbie is now going green for Earth Day with her collection of eco-friendly accessories for girls. The new line of accessories titled Barbie BCause will reuse fabrics that would have otherwise been discarded, to produce eco-conscious, patchwork type fashions. They can be found exclusively at Toys"R"Us and will include handbags, coin purses, hats, tote bags, pillows, diaries and more! Prices range from $5.99 to $19.99 each.

Sounds like a good way to get your daughter into being eco-chic. Maybe she's not old enough to understand the negative impacts some of our actions have on the planet, but she can look spiffy with her earth conscious accessories!

Not to be out done, everyone is rolling out their line of eco-friendly toys and more. Toys"R"Us also has their own line of environmentally friendly toys, as well as Amazon.com.

Also launching this Earth Day is a "solar powered" newspaper ad to promote SunChips and the fact that Frito-Lay's California plants will be starting to use 75 percent of its power from solar energy. I like the idea of this, now if they could start putting the chips in eco-friendly bags, that would be even better.

Sam's Club has recently launched a line of organic coffee as well.
