Life UneXpected tell the story of 15-year-old Lux (Britt Robertson, "Swingtown"), who after being shuffled throughout the foster care system her whole life has decided it's time to set out on her own and become an emancipated minor. As Lux embarks on the complicated legal process required to escape foster care, she ultimately is led to her biological parents (Kristoffer Polaha, Shiri Appleby). In an unprecedented ruling the Judge handling Lux's emancipation grants her biological parents temporary joint custody, leaving each parent vowing to give their daughter the stable family life that has always eluded her.
