    Gossip Blog: 'Never Been Marcused'
NEW YORK - Every week, New York City Socialistas, Kelly Will and Gregory Littley, will recap the latest 'Gossip Girl' episode, and give the insiders' view into what it's really like to be fashionable and fabulous in the city that never sleeps.

As Labor Day and the first day of Senior year nears, our favorite Upper East Siders get ready to head home to NYC for the fall semester. No true Hamptonite would ever depart the season early - the final days of Labor Day weekend are saved for the biggest beach cookouts and parties. Yet our fab friends have decided to get into a little trouble back in the city.

Serena and Dan can't keep their idle hands off each other while Blair devises a plan and a party to meet Lord Marcus' parents, the Duke and Duchess. Chuck connives to nix the Lord from Blair's life and save Nate's financial destitution. Rufus, last week's deadbeat dad, finally comes to his senses and puts his children first. Oh, and Little Jenny and Eric were having a water balloon fight somewhere off camera in East Hampton.

Oddly, our precious little B can't seem to convince the Lord that it is time for her to meet the parents - something about how his stepmommy is very protective. As B leaves the breakfast table, Chuck moves in on her man and sets up a faux friendship with the Lord, in order to break the two up.

Have we mentioned that the Lord's stepmommy just happens to be Catherine the Cougar, Nate's great summer love? It's confusing so try to follow.

Serena and Dan head home on the Hamptons Jitney (a bus to NYC and the Hamps for a minimal $35 roundtrip fare), and the two join the Montauk Mile (high?) Club. Chuck and Nate take the limo home after Nate learns that Father Archibald's finances have been frozen from his mother and her two scary large dogs. B and the Lord share his Towncar back to the city as she plans a last minute fete at the Hudson Hotel. Reality check...the HUDSON has lost its society cache and its original luster in real life. This party would have been better suited for the EMPIRE hotel's rooftop - the newest hot roof scene in the city.

Caught in the act - OMFG - the tables soon turn in Blair's favor when she stumbles over her former lover, Nate, on the Hudson Library floor with the Duchess. Compromising position, anyone? Nate solves the family finances by agreeing to the Duchess's very demanding physical terms in return for a fat envelope of cash, while B uses her discovery of the old with the young and illegal love, in her plot to seal the deal with the Lord. Have you EVER shied away from petty blackmail, Ms. Waldorf?

The flame between Chuck and Blair is only burning hotter as the lights go out in the city next week.

    Our favorite quotes?

"She made Waldorf rhyme with Spears!" Blair to Serena about the Duchess making her seem terrible.

"I recognized someone IN her." Blair to Chuck on convincing the Duchess to let her be with the Lord.

Hold your breath for next week, Gossipers.
