Everyone Is Doing It...Texting That Is

Everyone is doing it…texting that is. In this day and age it seems that more and more people are resorting to the impersonal tactic of digital break ups. When Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford broke up, it was done via text.  "It was completely mutual," Underwood told Extra. "We broke up over text so... it's like 'peace out.' "

Being the avid texter that I am there is one thing that I cannot allow myself or others to do, which is texting something that should be a personal conversation. If someone wants to bring up something personal over texting I'm usually the one to opt out and say "why don't you give me a call later so we can talk about this.'' There's just something not quite right to me about having certain talks via text messaging.

The sad thing is, the way in which the texting craze is going; everyone will be communication over text instead of simply talking anymore. I think it takes a real coward to do something like break up over a text message. I would be thinking "Do you not have the decency and guts to call me and tell?"

I suppose the next thing will be text dating. Where you won't even have to see the person you're dating or better yet, they can send you a picture message (that probably turns out the be their hot friend and not them) and you have your whole relationship via text. That way you can be like the person in internet chat rooms who fabricate their life in an effort to be liked by someone who is most likely doing the same thing.

Seriously people, wake up. There is nothing cool about dumping someone over a text message. I'm pretty sure you didn't hook up over a text and even if you did, then I guess we're in the new digital age of the good ol' grade school hook-up method…Do you like me? Check yes or no.

If your bf/gf happens to be some psycho that ever makes the statement  "If I can't be with you no one will" then you have my stamp of approval to dump them via text messaging as fast as your little hands can push those buttons.

Oh by the way, with rumors riding high about Chace and JC from N'SYNC being more than friends. I wonder if this has anything to do with his breakup with Carrie. "I'm just sayin"
