Akon
is working on his third album, which he plans to release this May. The album is called Acquitted and he hopes the first single will feature Michael Jackson. "It's a worldwide record," Akon said. "The record is so huge. It's too big. [Michael's] the only person I could have collaborated with. The other [songs] on the album are huge though." This year's American Idol shocker, according to The Associated Press, is that 24-year-old semifinalist David Hernandez used to work as a nude dancer at male strip club Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix. The manager of the club, Gordy Bryan, told the news service on Monday that Glendale, Arizona, native Hernandez had performed fully nude and gave lap dances to the club's mostly male clientele. "He had the look and the type that people like, so he made pretty good money here," Bryan said.

Already at the forefront of environmental activism within the music business, Jack Johnson is stepping up his efforts on his summer tour, which begins June 13 outside Indianapolis. The artist, who is in his third week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with the album "Sleep Through the Static," is launching the All At Once online community in conjunction with the tour.
