Music, crowds, prizes and best of all BLIZZARDS!!! What's up Seattle! It's Alyssa from the CreW! Yesterday Angela and I had a BLAST with the Dairy Queen Blizzard Mobile! The blizzard Mobile is traveling all over the United States (and Canada) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Blizzard! Yep, that's right the Blizzard was created in 1985 and took DQ lovers by storm (well actually by blizzard). The Blizzard Mobile made stops at the Seattle Children's Hospital and the Lynnwood Dairy Queen. At both locations they were shoutin' out trivia left and right. Any guesses on the most popular Blizzard to date? Yep, it's the Oreo Blizzard and I was luck enough to have TWO samples of that baby yesterday. Delicious!
First stop of the day, Seattle Children's Hospital. When we pulled up there was no way we could have missed this amazing Blizzard Mobile. The line wrapped around the corner and the huge Blizzard Mobile was a sight that could not be missed. This huge blue truck was DECKED OUT! It was decorated with a giant Oreo Blizzard replica, red spoons, televisions showing video about DQ's anniversary and that infamous DQ mouth. The MC was getting the crowd pumped up by singing to the music and shouting out his catch phrase, "All you need is a smile and a high five to get your blizzard!"
Our next stop was the Lynnwood Dairy Queen. After some lunch, some car trouble, (yes, our huge green CW11 truck decided to break down on us on our way to the Lynnwood location) and dealing with our challenge of direction, (and yes we got lost, majorly lost) we were finally able to make it to the location! When we pulled up we though we were at a full blown party! The parking lot was jam-packed with kids, teens and their parents. Balloons were everywhere and everyone was rockin' out to the blaring music. They had something for every age, whether it was the awesome prizes, the temporary tattoo station or the obvious attraction of the free Blizzards it was something nobody wanted to miss. We saw tons people come over to DQ just to see what was going on, and they were happily surprised by this birthday bash for the Blizzard. This party was so hoppin' that the Blizzard Mobile didn't even want to leave on time and they stayed behind after 5 because the fun was too much to pass up.
Our experience with chasing down the Dairy Queen Blizzard mobile was awesome! Despite our car breaking down and us getting lost all over Seattle, Angela and I had a BLAST! So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLIZZARD!!! You're birthday bash was one of the best!

Seafair is almost here
sort of. If you are a procrastinator/failure like me, you still have no plans, and probably won't until the week before the Blue Angels fly. Let's face it, they are the main reason we all go, and that's still more than a month away, plenty of time to plan.
AUGUST 6th-8th Boeing Air Show-MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Oh spectacularly loud machines, I wish I could temporarily borrow grandma's hearing to watch you fly.
Other events to look forward to include: The Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival, Kent Cornucopia Days, The Pirate's Booty Milk Carton Derby and about 27 other tantalizing activities
so pick your favorites at
http://www.seafair.com/events/ and plan accordingly!
Basically, it's time for parades, contests, food, dancing, shows, music, and fun! This is why I love the summer
