    The Beat: Movie Review "Awake"
Aaron gives his review on the new movie "Awake"

    by Aaron Fields | KSTW.com

Once again I was out at the movies for the weekend (yes my life is just that exciting) to check out the new movie Awake. I initially wasn't even going to check out this movie but a friend wanted to go and with nothing better to do I decided to check it out.

I have to admit that the movie was slightly more interesting than I thought it would be but it was definitely far from a thriller of a good time. Don't get me wrong, the plot was decent and it has a nice little surprise twist in it. However, if you have seen any of the previews for this movie then you almost know too much about it for it to be a real shocking surprise. The biggest issue I had with this movie is the twist happened about midway through the film yet it pretty much ruins the film because it goes downhill from there. It would have been much more interesting to see the twist happen more towards the end, at least that way the audience could be in suspense throughout the film.

All in all it was a semi-decent movie. If you stay awake until the twist comes out (which if you really concentrate hard enough might be able to figure it out) then you can just fall asleep after that and believe me you won't miss a thing.

I'm kind of torn on the rating for this because it would lie somewhere between Rent it and Matinee

Full price= You gotta see this movie, if not you'll be sorry on Monday when your left out of the chat around the water cooler
Matinee= Pretty good, but I'd save the extra couple of bucks for a fast-food dollar menu after the movie
Rent it= Worth renting the DVD if you get ditched on a Friday night and all you have to hold is your cat fluffy
Dump it= Tell your worst enemy to go see it, chances are, they'll despise you more
