The Beat: Music Artists YOU Should Know 2
Aaron gives some insight into some amazing music artist that you should know if you don't know already.

Fresh on the scene Tyra B. is sure to make a name for herself with her first single "Givin' me a rush  from her soon to be released 2008 debut album "Introducing Tyra". Immediately when I heard this song and saw the video  the name Aaliyah came to my mind. This girl has a lot of similarities to the late and great songstress. Remember when Aaliyah first came out and she had that pretty girl/tomboy look? Yup, that's exactly what Tyra looks like in her video. I also love the dancing and she is a good dancer just like Aaliyah was. You'll also notice that she has that soft beautiful voice as well. I'm not saying she will be the next Aaliyah or even take her place for that matter (honestly no one can do that). However, I think she is a great candidate to fill that void in the industry that has been there since the passing of Aaliyah. This is definitely an artist you should and will most likely know very soon.

I remember hearing a song called "Promise ring" some time around fall, actually I remember randomly waking up one early morning to find the TV still turned on and the video to "Promise ring" playing. Immediately I was like "who is this new chick getting her groove on?" Of course at the end of the video I saw the name Tiffany Evans. Since then I have heard the song numerous times on the radio and even shopping in the mall. There was something about this girl in the video that immediately caught my attention…she can dance and most obviously she can sing! Her debut album is said to be released in early 2008 and her second single is getting ready to drop. I'm not really a fan of this song "I'm grown" feat. Bow Wow, especially not as much as her first one. This track is just ok to me plus when does a 15 year old have the right to say she's grown? However if she has anything else that shows her strength as a singer as her first single does, she'll definitely make an impression of what the new generation of R&B music is starting to look like. Looks like they got the next Ciara on the rise.

I haven't found out much about these guys who go by the name Midwest City, but their music speaks for itself. What I have found out is that they started out as Gospel acapella singers and transitioned into more of an R&B group and they are signed to the Universal/Motown record label. This song called "Thought it was me" is a really nice track. I really like the vibe of the song and their voices are great. I definitely see big things in the future for this group reminiscent of major quartets that have come before them such as Boyz II Men, 112 and Jagged Edge. Be sure to check out their MySpace for videos and more songs, there is no denying…these guys can sang!
