    The Beat: New Song Reviews

    by Aaron Fields | KSTW.com

New song by Fergie called "Pick it up" . Not really what I expected from her but I do like the song. Kind reminds me of "Big Girls Don't Cry"  but I happen to feel this one is a little more listenable. This is said to be a track on a new version of "The Dutchess" cd that was recently released in Japan.

The 2007 winner of American Idol Jordan Sparks has been popping up a lot lately with new music and videos for her selftitled upcoming album "Jordan Sparks" to be released November 20, 2007. I don't really care for this song featuring Chris Brown called "No Air". The beat is just ok, but it's her over the top singing that really annoys me about this song. I really hope this isn't going to be a single, especially if they make it one just because Chris Brown is big on the scene. Also check out the video to her single "Tattoo", I'm not a big fan of this song either and it sounds just like everything else produced by the production team known as Stargate who also produced "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce, "Go on girl" by Ne-Yo and "With you" by Chris Brown. I'm really getting tired of this sound personally and hope they reinvent their production sound soon and stop giving everyone the same ol' recycled beat.

Found this song by Omarion & Missy Elliott. Not sure where this song was supposed to be (on Omarion's 21 album or Missy's upcoming or some soundtrack or something) but it's a pretty decent song. I'm not too thrilled about the song itself but the beat is definitely hot, and since Missy is one of my favorite artist needless to say I'm feelin' her on this track. The song is called "Wiggle".

I'm starting to see more and more tracks pop up with Usher being featured on them….is he getting ready for his comeback after the fiasco surrounding his marriage? Last I heard is that they we're afraid to release anything from him because they didn't know if it would do well or not. Here's a new track with him featuring Ludacris titled "Dat girl right there". Even with one of my favorite rappers on the track I'm still not impressed with this song. I liked the beat at the beginning then afterawhile it got pretty annoying. Only part of this song I liked was Ludacris' rap.

Said to be the first single off of Tweet's upcoming album "Love, Tweet" this track titled "Anymore" is definitely a different direction for Tweet. I don't know how I really feel about this track. I think Tweet has beautiful vocals and great song writing skills but there is something about this track that is just not doing it for me. I heard some other songs off the album and I really wish she would release something else instead of this one. To hear more songs from the upcoming album check out the "Artist YOU should know" article.
