The Beat: Movie Review "The Mist"
Aaron gives his review on the new movie The Mist

I was very excited this past weekend to go check out the moive The Mist that I have been seeing so many previews for. Just the fact that this is a Stephen King story I just knew it was going to be one of those off kilter sci-fi type of suspense horror movies. Needless to say it was and I really enjoyed this movie.

Basically what this movie is about is a town that is taken over by this mysterious mist that has many creepy things lurking in it. However the mist isn't the only thing the towns people have to worry about. There is a lesson to be learned that can't be seen from the previews alone. This movie is packed with action and just enough gore to wet a horror movie goers appetite. If your not a scary movie person you should be fine sitting through this one. There aren't too many scenes in this movie that will make you jump. At one point the audience exploded into cheers and applause and without giving away anything I will just say, you will know what this part is when you see the movie. I was rather suprised because out of the many horror movies I've seen (and believe me it has been plenty) I have never had this experience.

The ending was also something noteworthy about this movie as well. The whole movie you feel like certain events are going to happen and the ending will be like many other endings we have seen before. Oh but don't be so easily fooled. No one seen it coming and it's not so much as a surprise ending as it is unexpected. Prepare to sit for awhile, the movie is about 2 hours long, yet even on the dialogue heavy parts when movies can so easily go from awesome to dull there is always enough to keep you interested. This is the kind of movie that I would pay to see again.

On my movie scale this movie gets a Full price rating.

    Full price=
You gotta see this movie, if not you'll be sorry on Monday when your left out of the chat around the water cooler
Matinee= Pretty good, but I'd save the extra couple of bucks for a fast-food dollar menu after the movie
Rent it= Worth renting the DVD if you get ditched on a Friday night and all you have to hold is your cat fluffy
Dump it= Tell your worst enemy to go see it, chances are, they'll despise you more
